How We Raise Our Pigs

BABA FARM has been operating for more than four years on family-owned land in Muchatha, Kiambu County, with approximately 300 pigs of capacity.

Housing

Our pigs are kept on the farm’s own family-owned land in Muchatha, Kiambu County. The farm can currently hold approximately 300 pigs.

Feeding

Feed is sourced from local suppliers and stored at the farm.

Water

Water is pumped to the farm from a river.

Animal health

Two staff look after the pigs day to day, and the farm has access to an animal-health professional. Ask us about current health arrangements before you buy.

Breeding

BABA FARM breeds its own pigs: currently 25 mother pigs and 1 boar across Large White, Landrace, Duroc and MaxGro.

Piglet care

Piglets are typically sold at around 2.5–3 months old. You are welcome to see them before you buy, by appointment.

Record keeping

Ask the farm which records are available for the piglets you are considering.

Farm hygiene & visits

Visits are by appointment only, so we can arrange a time when someone can show you around. Ask us about hygiene arrangements before your visit.
