Why farmers consider Landrace
Landrace is often considered for maternal breeding roles. Compare individual animals and records with your breeding plans.
Breeding considerations
If considering a Landrace female for breeding, ask about her parentage and the records available for the dam. Confirm suitability with an adviser.
Feeding considerations
Before buying, ask what feed this batch currently receives and budget for feed and water after collection. Ask a qualified adviser to assess a ration for your animals; breed alone does not determine feeding needs.
What to check before buying piglets
Confirm the batch ID, date of birth, sex, parentage, price and number available. Ask for the records that support any claims made about an animal. Explain whether you intend to breed or raise pigs for sale.
